Elaine is the middle name of a mother who saw the full humanity in children the education system had already discarded — a Golden Apple Award-winning special education teacher who later became a minister. She had an innate kindness that did not bend under pressure. She loved people back to wholeness.

They were faithfully married for over thirty years. Through sickness and health. Through wealth and poverty. Their love did not require perfect conditions. It required only faithfulness.
